Obituary – Ruby Lee Turner

Ruby Lee Turner, 84, died Sunday, Feb. 10, 2019, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi, in Oxford.  The funeral service will be Saturday, Feb. 16, 2019, at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Waller Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff Taylor officiating.  Burial will follow in Peach Creek Cemetery outside of Sardis, Mississippi. Visitation will be prior to the service beginning at 12 p.m. at the funeral home.

Born in Quitman County, Mississippi, to the late Mattie Sue West Bowles and Alvis Lee Bowles, Mrs. Turner was the widow of Mr. Floyd Lewis Turner.  She was a member of Woodland Hills Baptist Church. She enjoyed cooking, shopping and spending time outdoors.  Her family will feel her loss profoundly as Mrs. Turner instilled that family was everything.  In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Janie Sue Smith and Pamela Faye McCuan; two sons, Jonathan Lee Turner and Peter Anthony Turner.

Survivors include four sons, Floyd Lewis Turner, Jr., of Water Valley, Mississippi, Steven Daniel Turner of Tupelo, Mississippi, Joseph Farrell Turner of Water Valley, and John Roger Dale Turner and his wife, Mary Jane of Oxford, Mississippi; a son in law, Ricky McCuan and his wife, Tammy of Water Valley; a sister, Mattie Ann McGregor of Batesville, Mississippi, and many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
