Mrs. Betty Wilcox Vause, 92, passed away Saturday, March 9, 2019, in Oxford, Mississippi. The family received friends on Monday, March 11, 2019, from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. in the Chapel of Newsom Funeral Home in Charleston, Mississippi. A Graveside Service and Interment directly followed at Charleston City Cemetery. A second visitation was also held on Monday, March 11, 2019, at 1:30 p.m.  The Memorial Service was at 2 p.m. at Oxford University Methodist Church in Oxford.

Mrs. Vause was a retired branch manager for the Bank of Shaw, Mississippi, a member of DAR, a member of Shaw Methodist Church for 42 years, and also a member of Oxford University Methodist Church for the past 19 years.

Those whom she leaves behind that will forever cherish her memory include one daughter Patti Vause Dixon (Les) of Merigold, Mississippi; two sons, Eddie Vause of Oxford.  and Gene W. Vause (Mary Nelle) of Germantown, Mississippi; four grandchildren, Shannon Dixon Taylor (David) of Cleveland, Mississippi, Anna Alford Sledge (Allen) of Merigold, Neil Vause of Memphis, Tennessee,  Betsy Vause Smith (Sean) of Bartlett, Tennessee; five great grandchildren, David E. Taylor III, Dixon Taylor, Ford Murphy, Cooper Smith and Mary Grace Smith; one brother, Joe Davis Wilcox (Nell) of Charleston, Mississippi. She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis O. Vause Jr.; her parents, Joe Phonso & Maude Wilcox; one sister, JoAnn W. Gunn.
