Lloyd Edward Defer, 81, of Water Valley, Mississippi, died peacefully on Wednesday, March 13, 2019, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, Mississippi. Lloyd worked his entire career in the law enforcement field spending six and a half years with the Mississippi Highway Patrol and 25 years as the Yalobusha County Sheriff.

Visitation is planned for Saturday, March 16, 2019, at Camp Ground Baptist Church in Water Valley from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Services will follow at 1 p.m. with Bro. Jerry King officiating.  Seven Oaks is charge of arrangements.
