Krystyna Zjawiony, 65, peacefully passed away Friday, March 15, 2019, surrounded by her husband and her close friends, at her home in Oxford, Mississippi. Visitation will be Saturday, March 23, 2019, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church (403 University Ave., Oxford, MS 38655). A funeral mass will immediately follow at 12 p.m. also at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Father Joe Tonos will officiate. Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Zjawiony was born in a small town near Luban Slaski, Poland, close to the borders of Germany and Czechoslovakia. In 1973, she graduated from the University of Warsaw with a degree in Psychology and Pedagogy, followed by a postgraduate study of administration.  Over the next 12 years, Mrs. Zjawiony worked in kindergartens in Bialystok, Poland, serving as the Director of Kindergarten 31, her last 4 years. In 1987, she moved to West Paterson, NJ. In 1996, Mrs. Zjawiony married the love of her life, Jordan Zjawiony. In 2000, she moved to Oxford, where she spent the rest of her life.

Mrs. Zjawiony is survived by her husband, Jordan Zjawiony of Oxford; her mother, Marianna Danczak of Bialystok; and her brother, Krzysztof Danczak of Bialystok. Mrs. Zjawiony was preceded in death by her father, Tomasz Danczak.
