Obituary – Ethel Juanita Manues

Ethel Juanita Manues, 82, passed away Monday, March 18, 2019, at the Methodist University Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.

There will be a memorial service at 5 p.m. on Saturday, March 23, 2019, in the Martin Willingham Chapel of Wells Funeral Home. The family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the service.

Ethel was born on August 13, 1936, to the late Clyde Mae Gill and Oscar Lee Williams in Leflore County, Mississippi. Ethel grew up in Greenwood, Mississippi, and then later moved to Pope when she married the love of her life, John Henry Manues. During her lifetime she worked as the manager at the Wal-Mart food court.   Ethel attended Hosanna Family Worship Center in Pope, Mississippi.

Those she leaves behind to cherish her memory include her two children, Sheila Saxton (Curtis), of Etowah, Tennessee, and Ted F. Wells, of Ruleville, Mississippi; one brother, Gene Williams (Sandy),  of Arizona; four grandchildren, Paul Wells of Como, Mississippi, Keith Lantrip of Oxford, Mississippi, Samuel Wells of Ruleville, Mississippi, and Jeff Wells of Oxford; six great grandchildren, Elizabeth Michelle Hissong, Amanda Danielle Wells, Coty Wells, Dustin Parttridge, Courtney Clark, and Benjamin Wells; and nine great-great grandchildren, Joshua, Elijah, Abel, Lilian, Harper, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Landyn, and Hunter.

Along with her parents, Ethel is preceded in death by her husband, John Henry Manues; two sons, David Rhines and Tommy Wells; and several siblings.
