Obituary – Johnnye Haley Parks

Johnnye Haley Parks, 64, passed away Saturday, April 6, 2019, at her home in Oxford, Mississippi. Visitation will be Wednesday, April 10, 2019, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Coleman Funeral Home. A memorial service will immediately follow at 1 p.m. also at Coleman Funeral Home. Bro. Fish Robinson will officiate. Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford is in charge of arrangements.

 

Ms. Parks was born and raised in Lafayette County, Mississippi. She was a member of Community Church of Oxford. Parks was always an extremely laid back and down-to-earth person. She would always find a way to see the best in everyone and every situation she came across. She also loved her family more than anything. Ms. Parks was an amazing mother and grandmother.

Ms. Parks is survived by three daughters, Candy Haley of Oxford, Michelle McCollum of Holcomb, Mississippi, and Jennifer (Johnny) Dunn of Greenwood, Mississippi; five granddaughters, Cecily (Thomas) Jenkins of Vardaman, Mississippi, and Amber McCollum, Brooke McCollum, Alyssa McCollum, and Alexis Dunn, all of Greenwood; three grandsons, Chase Morgan of Oxford, and Johnny Dunn, Jr., and Claxton Dunn, both of Greenwood; one sister, Penny (Carey) Wilson of Oxford; three nephews, David Collins of Calhoun City, Mississippi, Nicholas James of Jackson, Mississippi, and Colby (Ashley) Wilson of Oxford; one niece, Ashley James of Jackson; 6 great-grandchildren; and a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins. Ms. Parks was preceded in death by her parents, Mack Parks and Betty Parks; and one sister, Betty Mack James.
