Obituary – Amanda Murray Fribley Williams

Amanda Murray Fribley Williams, 69, died Wednesday, April 10, 2019, at her home in Oxford, Mississippi. The graveside service will be held Saturday, April 20, 2019, at 12 p.m. in St. Peter’s Cemetery in Oxford with the Reverend Ann Whitaker officiating. Waller Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

 

Born in New Orleans, Louisiana, to the late Joseph Walton and Lela Harkins Douglass Fribley, Mrs. Williams was a member of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Oxford. Amanda was a landscape designer and artist. She was a member of the National Alliance for Mental Illness (NAMI) and volunteered at Memory Makers of Oxford.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Robert Joseph Williams.

Amanda is survived by her husband, John David Williams, of Oxford; daughters, Amanda Murray Ackerman and her husband, David, of Lafayette, Louisiana,  and Sally Williams Couch and her husband, Matthew, of Tarpon Springs, Florida; brothers, Joseph Walton Fribley, III of Kosciusko, Mississippi, and Jeffrey Douglass Fribley of Oxford; four grandchildren, Douglass Ackerman, Emily Williams, Shelby Couch and Wyatt Couch.
