Obituary – Nancy Ferguson Rasco

Nancy Ferguson Rasco, 80, died Sunday, May 12, 2019, in Oxford, Mississippi after a lengthy illness. She suffered from Alzheimer’s.

A native of Dewitt, Arkansas, Nancy moved to Oxford in 2009 and lived before that in Hot Springs, Arkansas.  She was a graduate of the University of Mississippi and a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority.

Nancy served for many years on the Dewitt Bank and Trust Board of Directors and was chairman of the bank’s board until 2013. She was preceded in death by her husband Bill, who was a rice farmer in the Arkansas Delta. A master gardener, Mrs. Rasco enjoyed the outdoors, including duck hunting and fishing, playing golf (achieving several holes-in-one), and cheering for her beloved Ole Miss Rebels.

A graveside service will be held for Mrs. Rasco in Dewitt at the Dewitt Cemetery at 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 19, 2019. Visitation will be Essex Funeral Home in Dewitt on Sunday at 1 p.m., preceding the graveside service. The Rev. Jimmy Albrecht of First Baptist Church will officiate.

Mrs. Rasco was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Gladys Ferguson; her sister Carolyn Pryor; her daughter Becca Mehlin; and her grandson, William Magee.

She is survived by her daughter, Kent Magee (David) of Oxford; her sister, Becky Ehrlicher (Mike) of Memphis, Tennessee; grandchildren, Hudson Magee (Lo) of Oxford; Mary Halley Carlson (Luke) of Pike Road, Alabama; Parker Cope of Little Rock, Arkansas; Alex Cope of Little Rock, Arkansas; and one great-grandchild, William Wilder Magee of Oxford.
