Rebel hoops announce 2019-20 home slate

Ole Miss basketball released its full home schedule for the upcoming season on Monday morning.

The Rebels will play 17 regular season games in The Pavilion in Kermit Davis’ second season, including nine SEC games.

“We are excited to play 17 games in one of the best facilities in college basketball,” Davis said. “With the passion of Rebel Nation, including our outstanding student section Club Red, The Pavilion provides the best fan experience in the SEC. The energetic game day atmosphere makes a difference on the court.”

Highlighting the non-conference slate are matchups with Butler, the second-half of a home-and-home series that started last year, Cal State Bakersfield and Middle Tennessee State.

Both the CSU Bakersfield game and the MTSU games represent a bit of a homecoming. Former Ole Miss head coach and assistant Rod Barnes now coaches at Bakersfield. Barnes was an assistant in Oxford from 1993-98 before taking over the head coaching role for eight seasons, amassing a 141-109 record. In 2001, he took Ole Miss all the way to the Sweet Sixteen.

Current Ole Miss coach Davis came to Oxford from Middle Tennessee State. The Rebels played MTSU last season at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, but this year Davis gets his old school here in Oxford. All the dates for SEC match-ups will be released at a later date, but for now, here’s what the Ole Miss schedule looks like for the upcoming season.
