The Oxford Police Department is investigating an incident that took place at Rooster’s Blues House last night.

According to a statement from Capt. Hildon Sessums, officers with the OPD responded to Rooster’s around midnight Tuesday for a report of someone discharging a weapon inside.

Once on the scene, officers discovered the subject had fired his weapon and shot himself, sustaining a non-life threatening injury. The subject was taken to Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi by ambulance.

The incident is still under investigation and no one has been charged at this time.
