Obituary – Richard “Rich” Kevin Combs

Richard “Rich” Kevin Combs, 63, died at his home in Oxford on Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2019.

 A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, Sept. 21, 2019, at 1:30 p.m. at Yellow Leaf Baptist Church with Rev. David Ard officiating. The visitation will be held prior to the service at the church from 12 p.m. until service time. Burial will follow at a later date in Dixon Cemetery in Grand Rivers, Ky.

 Born in Dearborn, Mich., to the late Wilford Bishop and Lameta Barnett Combs, Private 1st Class Combs served in the United States Army. Rich was a member of Yellow Leaf Baptist Church. He was a carpenter who thoroughly enjoyed working with wood. Rich was an avid motorcyclist. He loved spending time with his grandchildren. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Roger Combs and Ronnie Combs.

 Rich is survived by his wife, Meta Combs, of Oxford; two daughters, Sara Renee Combs,  of Wilmington, N.C., and Angie Groner Hudson (Michael), of Oxford; two sons, Randy Austin Combs,  of Midvale, Utah, and Chris Groner (Karen), of Oxford; nine grandchildren; his sister, Vicki Combs Prest (Jim), of Birmingham, Ala., and numerous nieces and nephews.

  In honor of Mr. Combs service to our country, the flag of the United States Army will be flown at Waller Funeral Home.
