Obituary – Mark Allen Dingeldein

Mark Allen Dingeldein, 59, formerly of Oxford, MS, died Aug. 27, 2019, at home in
Jackson, MS. Born July 26, 1960, in Freeport, Ill., the son of Dewey W. and Gloria
(Bourgeois) Dingeldein. He was an Ole Miss grad and an archaeologist, previously at
Winterville Mounds in Greenville. He was a great brother, friend and mentor to the many
who admired his love of history (especially World War II) and tanks, his joy in making
people smile, his sarcasm that managed to put light on even the darkest of subjects, his
love of music and his ability to connect to just about anyone. Most of all, he loved his
soulmate, Bess. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his
sweetie, Bess Cofield, his pooch Nellie and a host of family and friends. Burial, 11:30
a.m. Sept. 28 at St. Peter’s Cemetery. Memorial follows at Avent Park Pavilion. In lieu of
