Danny Hugh Phillips, 72, passed away Friday, Oct. 18, 2019, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi in Oxford. Visitation was held on Sunday, Oct. 20, 2019, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Coleman Funeral Home. A funeral service immediately followed at 3 p.m., also at Coleman Funeral Home. Interment was at Old Union Cemetery (476 CR 444, Oxford, MS 38655). Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Phillips was known to be an extremely hard worker his whole life. He spent most of his life running his own general contracting company.  He was an avid outdoors man and enjoyed raising horses and going to every horse show that he could. He was an amazing family man who also loved spoiling his grandbabies.  He had a very strong faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and was a member of Tula Baptist Church. Mr. Phillips served in the United States Army Corps. 

Mr. Phillips is survived by his wife, Sheila Phillips, of Oxford; one daughter, Marcie Phillips, of Memphis, Tenn.; one step-daughter, Dianna (Ricky, Jr.) Britt, of Oxford; two granddaughters, Chloe Waters, of Memphis, and Abbie Lynn Britt, of Oxford; one grandson, Johnathan Ryan Cox, of Raymore, Mo. ; one brother, W. Ross Phillips, of Memphis; one niece, Leslie Phillips (Chris) Roy, of Abbeville, Miss.; and one nephew, William Ross (Kristen) Phillips, Jr., of Memphis.
