In an effort to raise money for their new live music initiative, the Oxford Film Festival announced a benefit concert for later this month.

The concert will be held at Proud Larry’s on Nov. 24 and feature music from several local musicians and bands.

“We are so excited to host this concert in order to raise funds to pay musicians to take part in the festival between move screenings this year,” said Melanie Addington, executive director of the Oxford Film Festival.

Acts for the benefit concert include Silas Reed, Tate Moore and Dave Woolworth of the Kudzu Kings, Neon Roadster and Garry Burnside.

Tickets are $5 in advance and $10 at the door. Anyone who purchases a ticket will be entered into the raffle to win two VIP passes to the film festival, which are valued at $350. Advanced tickets to the benefit can be purchased through Eventbrite.

Next year’s festival is moving from its usual February date. The 17th annual Oxford Film Festival will take place March 18 through 22, 2020.
