A cement truck overturned Thursday morning while attempting to navigate the roundabout at the intersection of Belk and South Lamar Boulevards.

Oxford Police Department, Oxford Fire Department and Shivers Towing responded to the wreck. According to OPD Chief Jeff McCutchen, the driver of the truck was not injured and no other vehicles were involved.

“We are still working to clear the truck at this time,” McCutchen said at approximately 11:30 a.m. Thursday. “Luckily, no one was injured. We should have traffic flowing normally shortly.”

Until the truck is cleared from the roundabout, drivers are encouraged to avoid the area.
