Officers with the Oxford Police Department arrested Shauntarius Thomas, 18 of Oxford, on Dec. 17 for sexual battery.

On Dec. 2, 2019, the Oxford Police Department took a report from a victim who said they were sexually assaulted by Thomas. After an investigation, an arrest warrant was issued for Thomas. Thomas turned himself in and was booked into the Lafayette County Detention Center.

He was given a bond of $6,000 by a Justice Court Judge.
