Obituary – Janice Mae Mueller Stetz

Janice Mae Mueller Stetz, 86, died Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2019, at Baptist Memorial Hospital – North Mississippi in Oxford. The funeral service will be held Saturday, Dec. 28, 2019, at 2 p.m. at Peace Lutheran Church in Oxford with Rev. Brandon Carlone officiating. Burial will follow in Eastover Memorial Cemetery. The visitation will be held at the church prior to the service from 12 p.m. until service time.

Born in Chicago, Ill., to the late Frances Mangles and Harold Mueller and raised by Frances and Robert Brenke, Mrs. Stetz was a member of the Peace Lutheran Church in Oxford where she had served as Church Treasurer. She also served as a Sunday school teacher and sang in the choir at the Grace Lutheran Church in Streamwood, Ill. Janice was a leader with the Girl Scouts, Brownies, and Cub scouts in Streamwood. 

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Stetz; sister, Lois Cuevas; and brother, William Mueller. She is survived by four daughters, Frances Elliott, of Harmontown, Miss., Lynn Tucky (Stephen), of Streamwood, Cynthia Swensek (Richard), of Elgin, Ill., and Maria Stockman (Todd), of Moss Point, Miss; three sons, Alan Stetz (Judy), of Oxford, Russell Stetz (Sherri), of Florence, Miss., and Mitchell Stetz (Colleen), of Glenn Ellyn, Ill.; sister, Karen Stone, of Southaven, Miss.;  brothers, Ernest Mueller, of Southaven, Robert Brenke, Sr., of Southaven, and Alexander Brenke, Sr., of Elk Grove Village, Ill.; 21 grandchildren and 38 great grandchildren.
