As a locally owned business, Landshark Delivery helped make eating easier for Oxford residents and students for years.

Landshark is still around, but this week they became part of a national brand.

Bite Squad announced the acquisition of Landshark Delivery effective as of Wednesday, bringing the Oxford business into the fold along with other cities across the country. Stevenee Lee, who was the market manager of Landshark, is staying on to now serve as the market manager for Bite Squad.

“We’re combining our resources and expertise through the Bite Squad brand, offering the most convenient and highest quality delivery experience possible,” Lee said. “Fans of the service now have the ability to order from more of their favorite restaurants and have their food delivered right to their door. Restaurants that offer delivery on the Bite Squad platform receive the support of a local team on the ground, as well as easy-to-access real-time data.”

Users of the Landshark service are expected to see a “huge upgrade” in the technology with the Bite Squad app. There are around 60 restaurants partnering with the Bite Squad service currently, and the company expects more local establishments to partner in the new consolidated platform.

Bite Squad has several cities in the Midwest and the Southeast, including Memphis. Its parent company, Waitr, offers service in several Mississippi cities, including Tupelo.

The Bite Squad app can be downloaded on both iPhone and Android devices. Once downloaded, users will be able to create and account and begin ordering. Ordering can also be done through landsharkdelivery.com or bitesquad.com.
