Former Ole Miss student dies from injuries in Highway 30 wreck

A former Ole Miss student and local journalist succumbed to injuries sustained from a Thursday morning wreck on Highway 30.

Callie Daniels Bryant was driving westbound on Highway 30 at approximately 9:53 a.m. when her 2007 Honda Element left the road and collided with a tree. As a result of the crash, she was injured and transported to Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi. The result of the crash is still under investigation, according to the Mississippi Highway Patrol.

Bryant, 28, passed away at the hospital later that day.

A native of Etta, Daniels graduated from Ole Miss in 2014. She was the assistant editor of the PMQ Pizza Magazine and the executive director of the Union County Humane Society. Prior to her role at PMQ, Bryant worked as an editor for HottyToddy.com. Her work also appeared in the EAGLE and in Mississippi Business Journal.
