Edith Goble Sizemore

Edith Goble Sizemore, 97, passed away peacefully at her home in Oxford on Monday, March 2, 2020. 

A private graveside service will be held in Oxford Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Fletcher Moorman officiating. 

Born in Dewey, Ky., to the late Sherd and Josie Harless Goble, Mrs. Sizemore was a nurse’s aide. Being a very religious person, Edith was devoted to spending time in scripture daily and was a member of the Church of Christ. Her daughter, Betty, read scripture with her daily. She loved flowers and spent her time gardening flowers, vegetables, and other plants. Mrs. Sizemore was an avid collector of bunnies made from every material imaginable. She had a close relationship with her daughter, Betty, and granddaughter, Gigi.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Sizemore; sister, Elma Atkins, and son-in-law, Larry DeBord. She is survived by her daughter, Betty DeBord, of Oxford; two sisters, Freda Tussey, of Bradenton, Fla., and Frances Plummer, of Bradenton; a grandchild, Gigi Mobley, and her husband, Bob, of Oxford; two great-grandchildren, William Wert, and his wife, Katie, of Charleston, S.C., and Larry Wert, of Oxford; and two bonus grandchildren, Peggy Turner, of Saltillo, Miss., and Danny DeBord, of Knoxville, Tenn.
