Earlier this week, the full list of businesses that received Personal Paycheck Protection loans from the federal government due to COVID-19 was released and included over 100 Oxford businesses.

The list of loan recipients was released by the U.S. Small Business Administration, in consultation with the U.S. Treasury Department.

Ranging from $150,000 to $2 million, loans were given out to Oxford businesses in the medical, legal, athletic and restaurant fields among others. The loans are awarded to businesses to help payroll, rent, mortgages and utility costs affected due to the COVID-19 pandemic, causing the businesses to close or scale back operations.

The loan will be fully forgiven if at least 60 percent of it is used to cover those categories.

“The PPP is providing much-needed relief to millions of American small businesses, supporting more than 51 million jobs and over 80 percent of all small business employees, who are the drivers of economic growth in our country,” said US Treasury Secretary Steven T. Mnuchin. “We are particularly pleased that 27% of the program’s reach in low- and moderate-income communities is in proportion to the percentage of the population in these areas. The average loan size is approximately $100,000, demonstrating that the program is serving the smallest of businesses”
