The Oxford Film Festival is providing double the fun with its summer drive-in experience, starting this week.

After offering its OFF to the Drive-In event at Oxford’s Cannon Motors location off Highway 6 throughout June, a second drive-in will be set up in Water Valley beginning Thursday as part of the 12th week of the Virtual Oxford Film Festival.

Both locations will continue to show films, beginning at 8 p.m., but tickets must be purchased in advance and are $20 per car. Water Valley’s location is at 1004 Central Street.

The first film to screen in Water Valley is Disney’s “Frozen.” In celebration of the film turning 40, “Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back” will be shown on July 10. Other films currently scheduled are “Dazed and Confused”  (July 11); “Marvel’s Black Panther” (July 16); “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off” (July 17); “Dream Girls” (July 18); “Labyrinth” (July 23); “Cat on a Hot Tin Roof” (July 24) and “Harriett” (July 25).

“We’ve decided to ramp up in our last 6 weeks of the virtual festival with more Q&As and titles each week while also launching a second drive in location in Water Valley,” said OFF executive director Melanie Addington. “This year’s big experiment has proven that one thing remains true – people love movies and we feel so lucky to be able to provide safe ways to still enjoy them this year.”

Oxford’s drive-in location has these films currently scheduled for July: “Picture Character” (July 9); “Dirty Dancing” (July 10-11); “Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom” (July 12); “Secret Life of Pets 2” (July 16); “Frozen” (July 17); “Frozen II” (July 18); “How to Train Your Dragon” (July 23); “How to Train Your Dragon II” (July 24); “How to Train Your Dragon III” (July 25) and “Beatles Yellow Submarine” (July 31).

The film festival will continue its transition to digital-only this year with a slate of four Virtual Art House films and another block of short films this upcoming week. There will also be Q&A sessions along with select titles.
