The Lafayette Commodores fall at home to the Itawamba Indians 40-0 on Friday night, dropping their record to 0-3 to open the 2024 season.
Itawamba took an early lead on their first play from scrimmage when Indians quarterback John Austin Wood hit Cooper Waddle on a long pass play.
Following the extra point the score was 7-0 after 22 seconds.
Itawamba opened the second quarter with a five yard touchdown pass to go up 13-0 as the extra point was blocked and scored on its next possession to go up 20-0 in the second quarter over Lafayette. In the closing minute of the second quarter Itawamba found the end zone again to go up 27-0 at the half.
Lafayette travels to Columbus next Friday night. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
