Sex offender fails to register

A registered sex offender in Oxford was arrested for not registering his new address.
On Monday, Nov. 18, during a Lafayette County Sheriff’s Criminal Investigation Unit regarding a sex offender registration violation, Roderick Jevon Perry, 39, of Oxford, was found to be in violation due to not living at his registered address.
Perry was arrested and charged with Sex Offender Registration Failure and transported to the Lafayette County Detention Center.
Perry appeared before a Justice Court Judge for his initial appearance and was given a $10,000 bond.
The sheriff’s office is currently conducting sex offender checks to make sure all sex offenders comply with state regulations.
