Mayor Robyn Tannehill will be at Oxford’s helm for another four years, as will all but one of the current sitting aldermen.
The deadline to qualify to run as an alderman or for mayor was at 5 p.m. on Friday.
No one qualified to run against Tannehill or At-large Aldermen Mary Martha Crowe; Brian Hyneman, Ward 3; Mark Huelse, Ward 2; Kesha Howell Atkinson, Ward 4; Preston Taylor, Ward 5; or Jason Bailey; Ward 6.
Ward 1 Alderman Ricky Addy elected not to run again this year to retain his seat on the board.
Qualifying to run as Ward 1 alderman are William Summers Mayo (Republican), Erin Smith (Independent) and Drew Stevens (Independent), who was the last to qualify for the election and completed his paperwork on Thursday.
Since there is only one person running as a Republican and the other two are running as Independents, there will be no primary election. The three candidates will be on the June 3rd ballot.
There will not be a runoff for the general election. The most votes will win. Everyone will vote at the Oxford Conference Center.
