The USMS Fallen Heroes Honor Run was established by the Eastern District of Missouri to honor the memory of Deputy United States Marshal Josie Wells who died on March 10, 2015, while executing an arrest warrant on a fugitive in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. It has grown into a national tradition with 83 districts around the country participating in the 2024 run.
“The USMS Fallen Heroes Honor Run serves as a powerful reminder of the courage and commitment of those who have given everything in service to others,” said“ Richard Upchurch, Chief Deputy United States Marshal Northern District of Mississippi.
