Bobby L. Turner

Bobby L. Turner, 61, died Friday, Aug. 21, 2015, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi in Oxford. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Philadelphia M.B. Church with the Rev. Alfred L. Hall II officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Viewing will be Friday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Hodges Funeral Home, which is in charge of arrangements.

A native of Yalobusha County, he was a retired dishwasher for Phi Mu Sorority at the University of Mississippi. He was a member of Philadelphia M.B. Church, Laymen Ministry and sang occasionally with the male choir.

Survivors include his wife, Sylvia Diane Turner of Oxford; three daughters, Benita Harper, Beverly Turner and Barbara Turner, all of Jackson; four step-children, Sherreda Hillard, Steffany Hillard, Tonia Adams and Robert Adams, all of Oxford; sister, Nicole Oliver of Water Valley; eight brothers, Troy White of Toledo, Ohio, Christopher Turner of Houston, Texas, Craig Crawford, Ray White, Johnny Turner, Michael Turner, Keenan Turner and Reginald Turner, all of Water Valley; and 11 grandchildren.
