Robert Bynum Albritton II

OXFORD — Robert Bynum Albritton II, 78, died Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2015, at his home in Oxford. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Andalusia, Alabama. Coleman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Born in Andalusia, Alabama, Dr. Albritton had received his PhD from Northwestern University in Illinois. He moved to Oxford in 1996 to work at the University of Mississippi as a professor of political science in the Liberal Arts department. Having played football, he was an avid football fan. He was an animal lover who often volunteered at the animal shelter as a “paw-walker.” He also supported St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Survivors include his wife, Nantaporn Apasiripol of Oxford; son, Robert Bynum Albritton III of Herndon, Virginia; daughter, Phyllis Mary-Anne Albritton of Evergreen, Colorado; brother, William Leonard Albritton of Saskatoon, Canada; and three grandchildren.
