OXFORD – James H. Johnson, 69, died Saturday, Sept. 12, 2015, at his residence in Oxford. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday at Hodges Funeral Home chapel with burial in Yocona Cemetery in Taylor. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday with family hour from 5-6 p.m. at Hodges Funeral Home, which is in charge of arrangements.

Formerly of Nashville, Tennessee, he was a chef and U.S. Army veteran.

He is survived by his companion, Cenora McGee of Oxford; daughters, Candace Mims and Tracy Johnson Richmond, both of Texas; sons, David Walker of Jackson and James Johnson Jr. of Florida; stepchildren Stephanie Harmon of Oxford, Tyrone Garrett, Timothy Tyson and Roosevelt Pritchard, all of Jackson, Reginald Tyson of Oxfors; sisters, Joann Johnson and Clara Johnson, both of Nashville, Tennessee; and brother Harry Johnson of Nashville, Tennessee.
