A listing of local burglaries supplied by law enforcement agencies to warn residents to take extra security precautions:

The Lafayette County Sheriff’s Department reported one residential burglary on County Road 521; two vehicle burglaries with one on Highway 328 and one in Hurricane Hills; and one commercial burglary on Highway 6 East.

Oxford Police

Officers investigated nine wrecks, issued 16 tickets and made eight arrests on the following charges:

Public intoxication

No headlights, minor in possession of alcohol and possession of drug paraphernalia

Speeding and DUI

Possession of drug paraphernalia and fake ID

Possession of drug paraphernalia

Running a stop sign and possession of drug paraphernalia

Officers investigated two wrecks made two arrests for possession of drug paraphernalia and investigated the following reports:

Out-of-jurisdiction warrant for sexual battery

Domestic violence with simple assault

Indictment warrant for burglary

EMERGENCIES

Oxford Fire Department

Firefighters responded at 12:48 p.m. to Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi for a fire alarm but were canceled en route.

Lafayette County Fire

Firefighters responded at 6:53 p.m. to County Road 5020 for a grass fire and extinguished the fire.

County EMS

Ten EMS calls were reported in the county.
