OXFORD — Paul Weldon Sherwood, 81, of the Harmontown community in Panola County, died Sunday, Oct. 4, 2015, at Baptist Memorial Hospital–North Mississippi in Oxford. A celebration of life service will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Harmontown Baptist Church in Como. Ray-Nowell Funeral Home-Sardis Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

He was of the Baptist faith and loved to fish, work in his yard and build birdhouses.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and two brothers.

He is survived by his wife Patsy Copeland Sherwood of Harmontown; one daughter, Helen Rose Sherwood of Kingfisher, Oklahoma; two step-daughters, Connie Griggs Brown of North Carolina and Candy K. Griggs of Como; two grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
