Walter Wright, 76, of Batesville, died Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2015 at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Desoto in Southaven.

Viewing will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Tuesday at Hodges Funeral Home and from 6 to 7 p.m. at Eureka A.M.E. Zion Church in Batesville.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Hodges Funeral Home of Oxford is in charge of the arrangements.

He was a native of Panola County.

Survivors include a son, Arthur Walter Wright of Batesville; a daughter, Joesetta Rochelle Wright of Sardis; six sisters, Cora Mayers of Coldwater, Alice Marie Wright of Memphis, Irma Dell Wright, Elizabeth Blackburn, Annie Bell Wright and Oretha Wright, all of Batesville; four brothers, Willie Frank Wright Jr. and Robert Wright, both of Batesville, James Wright of Oxford and Dwight Lee of Greenville; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
