Ruby Earline Maples

WATER VALLEY — Ruby Earline Maples, 79, died Monday, Oct. 19, 2015, at the Yalobusha Nursing Home in Water Valley. Funeral services will be held today at 4 p.m. at The Orchard with Bro. Fish Robinson officiating. Interment will be in the Abbeville Cemetery. Visitation will be today from 3 p.m. until service time at The Orchard. Coleman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Born in Abbeville, she lived most of her life in the Oxford area. She worked more than 25 years at the Golden Years Nursing Home in Oxford as a nurse aide. She enjoyed fishing, vegetable and flower gardening and canning. She took pleasure in spending time with her family.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Anna Wimberly, and brother, James Wimberly.
She is survived by her husband, James Maples of Oxford; one son, Billy Maples of Oxford; two daughters, Dorothy “Tootie” Holloway and Virginia Garrison, both of Oxford; one sister, Peggy Salmon of Oxford; two brothers, Thomas “Shorty” Wimberly and David Wimberly, both of Oxford; four grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
