Republican Supervisor District 3 candidate David Rikard won the election Tuesday by 12 votes, proving that in local elections, every vote truly does count.
Rikard received 49.19 percent of the votes which equaled 1,453 votes, compared to his opponent, Democrat Dale Timothy Gordon with 48.78 percent, or 1,441 votes.
Rikard said he plans to rest a bit for a few days and then start learning all he can about being a supervisor so he can hit the ground running come January.
