Lafayette marching band to perform at Russell Bowl

WorldStrides OnStage programs has invited the marching band from Lafayette County High School to perform at the Russell Athletic Bowl in Orlando on Dec. 29.
Members will join marching bands from across the country in the halftime show finale of this major college bowl game.
An invitation to perform at the Russell Athletic Bowl is an honor reserved only for the most talented student performers from across the nation.
Under the direction of Kelly Duncan, the Lafayette County High School marching band will travel to Orlando where it will rehearse with the mass band and learn from nationally acclaimed adjudicators.
In the students’ free time, they will take in the sights of Orlando.
Kelly Duncan has been teaching for 15 years and will be personally leading the Lafayette County High School group of 28 students to Orlando.
The Lafayette High School Band recently competed in three competitions.
They received all superior ratings in Drum Major, Color Guard, Percussion and Band at the Southern Stars Invitational at Lewisburg High School, the MHSAA Marching Evaluation at Grenada, and the Crossroads Classic at Corinth High School.
