‘Text to Win’ contest part of state championships

This week’s Mississippi Gridiron Class state championship brings back the Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Mississippi Gridiron Classic “Text to Win” contest, which Oxford High School has won the last two years.

Charger fans can help the Oxford Chargers win $1,000 from Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Mississippi for the OHS physical education department.

To support OHS in the “Text to Win” contest, text “Gridiron11” to 55333. Limit one text per phone number per day. Standard data and message rates may apply.

Winning is simple: the school with the most votes (texts) at the end of the third quarter of Saturday’s Wayne County versus Oxford game wins. The contest will continue through the end of the third quarter of the 5A state football championship game. The winning school will be announced in the fourth quarter of the game.

Kickoff for Saturday night’s Class 5A championship game at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium is set for 7 p.m.
