Excited to see new leadership

We are excited to see what community leader and parent Pam Swain will do as the head of the Lafayette County School District’s Endowment Fund for Education this year.
The fund — which has been stagnant for a couple of years — brings extras into the classroom that the school district can’t afford, like science lab equipment, books and hands-on technology needs.
Swain has already proven herself as an effective leader by heading the successful Commodore car tag initiative last summer and pre-selling the 300 license plates needed to order the tags. She also has extensive experience in the nonprofit sector, serves as the Parent Teacher Organization President at Lafayette Upper Elementary and is the Senior Vice President of the Oxford-Lafayette County Chamber of Commerce.
We hope the community will join us in congratulating Swain on her new position and in thanking her for taking on additional responsibility at the Lafayette County School District. Because of her willingness to serve, Lafayette County children will be given more opportunities to learn and further their education in the classroom.
We look forward to covering the Lafayette County Endowment Fund, members of the community who join the program, and its fundraisers and projects that will enhance the learning experience at Lafayette County schools.
