OXFORD — Mistie Renee Carter Robinson, 48, died Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2016, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi in Oxford. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church with Dr. Eric Hankins, Dr. Robert Allen and the Rev. Jeff Holeman officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Forest Cemetery in Randolph. Visitation will be held on Friday from 4-7 p.m. at the church and again prior to the service beginning at 10 a.m. Waller Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Born in Pontotoc, she earned her Masters of Education from the University of Mississippi. A well-loved sixth-grade teacher, she was retired from the Oxford School District. She was an active member of First Baptist Church where she served as director of Vacation Bible School. In addition, she enjoyed smocking, playing bunko with friends, scrapbooking and crocheting. Always thinking of her friends and family, she kept a positive attitude, never complaining, and a warm smile throughout her lengthy illness.
Survivors include her husband, James “Bubba” Robinson of Oxford; her daughter, Alana Nicole Robinson of Oxford; her parents, Ann and William R. Carter of Pontotoc, and a brother, William R. “Bill” Carter, Jr. of Ecru.
