We’re ready for Ole Miss baseball

The Ole Miss Rebel baseball team will start its 2016 season tomorrow at 4 p.m. against Florida International at Swayze Field.

Ole Miss has a 56-game slate this season with 32 of the games played at home. Ole Miss baseball had the toughest schedule in the nation last year.

Ole Miss returns 16 players from last year’s team which includes seven starting position players. Coach Mike Bianco is entering his 16th season as the head coach of the Rebels. Last year’s team won 30 games and earned an NCAA Tournament bid for the 13th time in the last 15 seasons under Bianco’s tenure.

Most Ole Miss fans remember the first-ever trip to the College World Series in 2014 where the Rebels finished third and the excitement that was generated in our community with their success.

Shortstop Errol Robinson has garnered pre-season first team All-American honors and will be relied on to lead the Rebels this year. Ole Miss lost nine pitchers from last year’s team and pitching will be the question mark for this 2016 Ole Miss team.

Last year, Ole Miss was second in attendance behind number one LSU. Rebel fans last year averaged 8,066 fans per game for a season total of 225,873 fans for the entire year.

Let’s support the 2016 Ole Miss baseball team and help them get back to Omaha.
