ABBEVILLE — Minnie Pearl Britten, 68, died Monday, Feb. 22, 2016, at her residence in Abbeville. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 1 p.m. at East St. Peter M.B. Church with the Rev. Williams Woods officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and family hour from 5-6 p.m. in the Vera Mae Hodges Chapel of Remembrance at Hodges Funeral Homes, which is in charge of arrangements.

A native of Lafayette County, she was a homemaker, member of East St. Peter M.B. Church and the Heroines of Jericho.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ocie Allen Britten.

She is survived by her son, Allen Britten of Abbeville; daughters Rhonda Ivy of Abbeville and Barbara Britten of Memphis, Tennessee; sisters Easter Tyson of Taylor, Joyce Morgan of Oxford, and Edna Williams and Barbara Wadley, both of Abbeville; brothers Clinton Wadley of Tupelo, James Wadley of Abbeville and Ezekiel Wadley of South Bend, Indiana; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
