OXFORD — Sullivan “Bill” Armstrong, 59, died Friday, Feb. 19, 2016. Funeral services will be held on Friday at noon in the chapel of Serenity-Martin Funeral Home with Pastor Will Owens officiating. Interment will follow in the New Hope Church Cemetery. Visitation will be today from 2-5 p.m. and three hours prior to service time Friday at Serenity-Martin Funeral Home, which is in charge of arrangements.

Born in Oxford, he loved his job at Oxford High School for more than 20 years and extended his career at the Mississippi State Veterans Home until his health failed.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Warren Armstrong and sister Martha M. Ragland.

He is survived by his wife, Cheryl Denice McEwein-Armstrong; three children, Tiffine L. Armstrong-Croom of Vicksburg, Kidrick L. Armstrong and Martel R. McEwen, both of Oxford; sisters Brenda A. Armstrong and Laura E. Armstrong, both of Emeryville, California, Marion K. Armstrong-Vaughn of Oxford, Antionette Lamar of Flint, Michigan, Arveldia Ballard of Toledo, Ohio, Becky Ragland of Stockbridge, Georgia and Delores McNeil of Thomaston, Michigan; brothers Henry Cliston “Cliff” Armstrong and Forest O’Neal Armstrong, both of Oxford, Jeffrey Ragland of Toledo, Ohio, Aaron Ragland of Detroit, Michigan and Hosie Lee Ragland Jr. of Thomaston, Georgia; four grandchildren and host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other family and friends.
