We thank the heroes

We hope you’ve seen a copy of The Oxford EAGLE’s second annual Profile edition, which showcases 16 people who give their time and talents to make our community what it is, the “real heroes” of Oxford.
Profile is about telling the story of our community, and it’s always a labor of love for the staff. We start working on it in October, and continue putting it together right until the last minute in February. The publication comes in addition to the daily newspaper and other special sections we put out through the year.
Telling the stories of people like Walmart cashier Sealetee Rogers-Fox, The Pantry volunteers, and local policeman, firemen and nurses make the hard work and extra hours at the office worth it. In no other publication do we get the chance to tell the story of those in our community in such a unique and in-depth way.
We’d like to thank those featured in our articles, our “heroes,” and, of course, our advertisers, who made publishing this edition possible.
We also thank those heroes who make this community what it is and put in countless hours on their job or volunteering. We can’t get to them all and know there are many more heroes out there. To you, we say thank you.
The Eagle is proud to showcase some of the people who make our community so unique, and we hope you enjoy reading it as much as we enjoyed creating it.
