Volunteer Oxford is looking for volunteers to help administer a survey for Yoknapatawpha Arts Council in conjunction with Americans for the Arts that will measure the influence of arts on community development.

“We are looking for volunteers who would enjoy talking to people,” Wayne Andrews, director of Yoknapatawpha Arts Council, said. “The best results come when our volunteers are able to explain the purpose of the survey and to answer questions about the survey.”

The survey will be administered at several events in the Oxford community, from plays by Theatre Oxford to festivals and other events. Lafayette County is the only county in Mississippi selected to participate in this survey.

There will be an informational meeting held at the Powerhouse on Tuesday at 3 p.m. for anyone interested in volunteering as a survey administrator. The dates and events for which administrators are needed will be announced at this time. Cookies and coffee will be served.
