TMR tonight on the Square
The Thacker Mountain Radio Hour offers a novel about the mysterious flight and destruction of the Hinderburg airship today at Off Square Books at 6 p.m. The book is “Flight of Dreams” by Ariel Lawhon who will discuss her novel and read from it today.
Other guests include author Julia Claiborne Johnson (“Be Frank With Me”) and singer-songwriter Brooke Waggoner.
Admission is free and the show is open to the public.
The show is hosted by Jim Dees and house band the Yalobushwhackers and is presented in conjunction with the Oxford Conference for the Book.

OFF at Shelter on Van Buren
Oxford Film Festival will showcase winning shorts at Shelter on Van Buren on Saturday beginning at 7:30 p.m.
Enjoy some coffee or beer with a slice of Ron Shapiro’s cheesecake while watching some award-winning films, all for free.
Donations will be accepted for the Oxford Film Festival at the counter.
OMM at the Powerhouse
Oxford Maker’s Market will be at the Powerhouse Community Art Center Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
This month’s market will have 20 vendors with a wide variety of handmade and homegrown goods. There will be a children’s art market area as well.
This is a family-friendly event and is free to the public.
