ECRU — Ruth Hodges King, 95, died Saturday, March 5, 2016, at Church Street Personal Care Home in Ecru. Funeral services will be held today at 1 p.m. in the Chapel of Waller Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert Allen officiating. Burial will follow in St. Peter’s Cemetery. A visitation will take place prior to the service beginning at 11:30 a.m. at Waller Funeral Home, which is in charge of arrangements.

Born in Kosciusko, she was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church. She found great pleasure in working in her yard, gardening and playing bridge. She loved her poodles and visiting with neighbors and friends.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Newt King.

Survivors include nieces, Cheryl Stonestreet Ledford of Tucson, Arizona, and Joann Hodges Evans of Center Point, Texas; and one nephew, Robert Samuel Stonestreet Sr. of Clarksdale.
