CHICAGO – Helen Archie-Joiner, 75, formerly of Oxford, died Thursday, March 10, 2016, at Little Company of Mary Hospital in Chicago. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at noon at Second Baptist Church in Oxford with the Rev. Andrew Robinson Sr. and the Rev. Richard Hairston officiating. Burial will be in Oxford Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until service time at the church. Serenity-Martin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

She attended Central High School in Oxford. She and William Davis Joiner were joined in holy matrimony in 1969. She worked in manufacturing jobs and later became a home health care assistant caring for the elderly.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Davis Joiner.

She is survived by daughter Mia Joiner McKinney of Olive Branch; sons Preston King of South Bend, Indiana, Ronny Joiner of Chicago and David Wayne Joiner of Oxford; brother Carlan Archie of Cleveland, Ohio; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
