The Yalobusha County Sheriff’s Department is asking for residents to help them locate two men who robbed an 83-year-old man at gunpoint earlier this month.

On March 19, the alleged victim was at his home in the Velma community when someone knocked on his door. Police said a tall, slender black man with a blue bandana over his face rushed inside the house. He was wearing a tan checkered shirt and ball cap and holding a silver pistol, possibly a .38 caliber. A second suspect reportedly entered the home behind the first. He was described as a black male with a black cloth on his face. The victim told deputies he believed a third suspect remained outside as a lookout.

The suspects reportedly demanded money and when the amount in his wallet didn’t appease the robbers, they took him through the house, allegedly threatening to kill him if he didn’t have more money to give. The suspects eventually left the home and the elderly man was not injured during incident.
