OXFORD – Ronald Glen “Ronnie” Fiew, 62, died Friday, April 8, 2016, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi in Oxford. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 2 p.m. at Anchor Baptist Church with the Rev. Gerald Shook officiating. Burial will follow in Anchor Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday from noon until service time at the church. Waller Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Born in Yalobusha County, he was a retired carpenter and also retired from the Mississippi National Guard after 25 years of service where he served as a Scout Section Leader, Staff Sergeant and a Readiness N.C.O. He was a member of Anchor Baptist Church, the T.S. Gathright No. 33 Masonic Lodge where he was a 32nd Degree Mason and a lifetime member of the D.J. Depriest Chapter 48 of the Disabled American Veterans. He served as a fireman from 1982 to 1987. He found great pleasure in hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed camping, gardening and playing Rook. Most of all, he loved his family and spending quality time with them and his close friends.
He is survived by his wife Crickett Fiew of Abbeville; daughters Hailey Fiew Boggs of Abbeville and Jennifer Carol Hill of Hickory Flat; son James Glen Fiew of Abbeville; mother Audrey Lee Tidwell Fiew of Oxford; sisters Carol Johnson of Water Valley and Janice Gail Wren of Oxford; brother Herschel Scott Fiew of Oxford and 11 grandchildren.
