ABBEVILLE — Sarah L. Austin Welch, 57, died Friday, April 22, 2016, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi in Oxford. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 1 p.m. at Tallahatchie Oxford Missionary Baptist Association Building with burial in East St. Peters M.B. Church cemetery. Viewing will be on Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at Hodges Funeral Homes, which is in charge of arrangements.

A native of Lafayette County, she was a retired line operator for Whirlpool.

She is survived by her husband, Robert L. Welch of Abbeville; daughter, Keesha Austin of Abbeville; son, Jershant Austin of Abbeville; sister, Maxine Austin-Woods of Abbeville; brothers, Michael Austin of Abbeville, Stevie Austin of Jackson, Leroy Braziel and Johnny Austin, both of Minneapolis, Minnesota, George Isiah of Oxford and Charles Houston of Racine, Wisconsin; and three grandchildren.
