WATER VALLEY — Ronald J. Kappes, 73, died Sunday, April 24, 2016, at his home near Water Valley. A memorial service will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at his home for family and close friends. Coleman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Born in Chicago, he had lived in the Water Valley area approximately 25 years. He was a veteran of the United States Army and had worked at Borg Warner for several years as a security guard. He enjoyed country music and spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Mary Kappes.

He is survived by daughters Linda Morgan of New Albany, Carol Reiman of Hickory Flat, Doris Green of Paris and Ellen Bcci Svarz of Crest Hill, Illnois; son Jack Johnson of Paris; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
